The
Giclée Print
Giclée is a
French word for "spray of ink." This method of reproducing
uses no screens or plates. The prints thus have a higher apparent
resolution than is achievable through any other printing method.
In the giclée process, a fine stream of ink more
than four million microscopic droplets per second is sprayed
onto archival art paper or canvas. Each piece of paper is carefully
hand mounted onto a drum which rotates during printing.
The printer, Harvest
Productions, is a small family-owned business committed to
excellence in printing fine art editions. Starting four years
ago, they are recognized as pioneers in the industry using advanced
technology to print band-pulled limited editions. Combining backgrounds
in color, design, mathematics and art, the staff uses a variety
of expertise.
